This is the old-style lobster float buoy that was used by lobster fishermen
to secure their traps.
A great vintage find at Florida marine flea market!
Authentic and chic! Has been cleaned and the paint was fixed.

A bit of a History about our Lobster Buoys.
Each is unique and has old fisherman twine to hang it. Each fisherman had their own colours to mark their traps or nets. They make great décor for the ocean oriented person!
Bright buoys marking the locations of lobster traps have been an iconic piece of maritime culture dating to the late 1800s, when trapping became a common method of lobstering. To distinguish one lobsterman's traps from others, it became tradition—and then law—to paint buoys a unique pattern and color scheme. They became essential for beach house decor, used as doorstops, centerpieces, hanging displays, and more.

I love these adds a little color to the room very beachy

I can't say enough about how much I REALLY like these! They are going to our beach home in St. Thomas and are going to work perfectly to create a "non-literal" coastal design in our space. The colors are just perfect and the weight is nice and solid feeling. The only thing that I will try to change or rework are the ropes, as they are new, for obvious reasons. I think I can age them some or find suitable replacements if it feels better in the space. Highly recommend!

These are very good quality and fit perfectly in my canoe bookshelf!! Ordering was easy and they were received on time. Just love them 😁

Overall, these are cute, but not worth the money (and the shipping was expensive compared to other sites that I have used, but it was quick ). I had requested to receive the exact color combination shown online, yet I received a different version with a deeper blue rather than a lighter blue (not a huge deal, but worth noting).

Bought it as a gift and they loved it!!!
